Cold Weather Lips

Right then, I'm sticking to my word. I'm going to bang out some posts right here and now. I'm going to try to get three done during my extended weekend(tomorrow is MLK's birthday!), but I might just go ahead and be ambitious and do even more!
Anyways, This post is going to be more about my lip essentials versus the bold beautiful lipsticks I've been wearing. I'll make a separate post on that. So these are the things that haven't left my handbag in the past month-the things that I wear and use pretty much everyday. I've literally just pulled five of them out of my bag to see their names... because everyone needs five lip products on them at all times, at least.

So that's all seven of them... haha. There's something for everyone in this bunch, I promise. Like I said, I'm saving my more bold ones for another post. We've got three awesome and very different balms, three sheer lipsticks, and one of my all time favorite lip crayon thingys.

EOS Smooth Sphere lip balm in Honey Suckle Honey Dew
Did you know EOS stands for evolution of smooth? You learn something new everyday. We'll these have been raved about forever and ever. They're cute and they work great. This happens to be my favorite scent. It's sweet and subtle. They aren't sheeny and shiny by any means and have no pigment.

Smith's Rosebud Salve
Probably the cutest tin ever. This is very shiny when applied and smells kind of like roses and babies. A strange combination, but not one that I mind. It claims to help chapped lips and skin, diaper rashes(babies!), blemishes, detergent burns, rough cuticles and it can soften hands. The texture is very vaseline-y, you could say. It doesn't absorb quickly if you use it on your hands, but that's how very moisturizing products are because there's very little alcohol in them. yeah. I got this at Sephora. Also, I have to add that, despite it's pink color, it really doesn't add any color to your lips.

Nivea Lip Butter in Raspberry Rosé Kiss
Last, but not least. This is one of my all time favorite balms. It is probably in-between the other two in finish-slightly shiny, but not overly so. It's soft and smells like heaven. Like raspberry sorbet, or something. yum. I think this is the cheapest of the three, but I think they're all equally as effective. Nivea makes some great products for a very affordable price.

YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in 2
I think the name of the color is dewy papaya, but it's not printed on the bottom. This was a christmas present to me, and I wear it very often. It could almost be considered a balm because it really doesn't add any color to your lips and it's super moisturizing. And the smell is DIVINE. Oh my god. I can't even begin to describe it. It's very shiny on your lips and wears off rather fast, which I get totally understand. These are awesome presents, might I add because even the darkest colors aren't over bearing and they're great for everyday use.

YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in 7
Again, the color name is not on the bottom, only the number, but I think it's sweet fig. Despite the different fruit name, the scent it the same, which, again, is to die for. This adds the most amazing red tint to your lips and I think it's great for an understated day look. The color stains slightly so the more you apply it though the day, the bolder the color is, but it never gets full on. I'm assuming that this is how all of the darker colors in the line are. This was, again, a Christmas present and I cannot recommend it more.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in 001 Honey Douce
This has been a favorite of mine for a long time. It's smooth and moisturizing and very wearable. This is the most pigmented thing that you'll find in this post. I usually don't go for pinks, but this is a great mauve-y pink that I have gotten a lot of use out of.  Also, this is my favorite color in this very raved about line. Also, there's a slightly minty scent that I know people either love or hate(I remain neutral).

Lipstick Queen Lipstick in Medieval
This is a product I got because Lisa Eldridge recommend it(Check out her youtube channel, right now!). This was formulated to be like what women wore in Medieval times because they couldn't wear makeup. It's pretty similar in color to the YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in 7, but a little more of a pink tone to the red. It has a pretty neutral smell and, like all the other products, is nice and moisturizing. I used to wear this like a fiend, but I misplaced it for a couple months in my car...

Alright, that's it. I love all of these products. They're great for every day wear and for giving your lips a little boost in these cold months. I feel like I'm writing the conclusion paragraph for an essay. Anyway, just so you know, I wear the YSL Volupté Sheer Candy in 7 the most often. Thanks for reading! Round of applause for quality pics? See you next time?
